After starting out in the city of Melbourne, Australia, The Kits have now relocated to London where their sound has come into its own. Drawing comparisons with The Saints, Gang of Four and The Sonics, The Kits'' tales of crime, addiction and short-lived romances have resulted in a rapturous following and earned them recent supports with The Dirtbombs, Wolfmother, The Saints and The Nightmarchers, as well as rave reviews in magazines like Kerrang and Artrocker. Harking back to the days when rock''n''roll was still considered a threat to the world''s youth, The Kits are set to conquer the world with the release of their long-awaited debut album. A garage rock''n''roll band at heart, they''ve taken the stomp and grit of the ''50s and ''60s and given it the injection of eternal youth through relentless guitar hooks and snarling vocals. The album was recorded over various sessions at Gizzard Studios (with Ed Deegan - The Cribs, Cornershop) and Toe Rag Studios (White Stripes, The Kills), together with a few songs off their previous EP "This Is Your Lung". It comes after two EPs, one single, a multitude of band members and the moving of location, from Melbourne, Australia to London, where en-route founding members Kit and Jay Atkinson picked up the now permanent members Marc Bonet from Spain and Michael Cleverly from New Zealand. The album delivers blow after blow of sure fire hits. Tracks like "Primitive Tales", "I Want To Hold Your Hand and Go To Hell", and "Don''t Want To Lose This Fight" scream of a band who''ve been knocked down and come back up fiercer every time. And their knack for writing irresistable dance-floor shake-downs is evident in tracks "Get Closer" and "She''s The Number One". This album is for yesterday. This album is for today.
